SMOKED ROSEMARY CRANBERRY BOURBON OLD FASHIONED 🍂🍹
Ingredients:
- 2 oz bourbon
- 1 oz cranberry juice
- 1/2 oz rosemary simple syrup (recipe below)
- 2 dashes of aromatic bitters
- Fresh rosemary sprig for garnish
- Ice cubes
- Extra rosemary for smoking
Rosemary Simple Syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
Directions:
- Start by preparing the rosemary simple syrup. In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water (1 cup each). Add 2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary to the mix.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat while stirring until the sugar completely dissolves. Allow it to simmer for about 5-10 minutes to infuse the rosemary flavor.
- Remove it from heat and let it cool. Once cooled, strain out the rosemary sprigs and store the syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Now, to prepare your cocktail! In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of bourbon, 1 oz of cranberry juice, and 1/2 oz of the rosemary simple syrup.
- Add 2 dashes of aromatic bitters for added depth.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir well until the mixture is nicely chilled, around 30 seconds to a minute.
- For the smoky flavor, use a smoking gun to smoke extra rosemary. Lightly smoke the cocktail glass before pouring the drink, allowing the aromatic notes to set the mood.
- Strain the chilled cocktail into the smoked glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a fresh sprig of rosemary and enjoy your unique Smoked Rosemary Cranberry Bourbon Old Fashioned!
