GRINCH PEPPERMINT FUDGE RECIPE 🎄🍬
Ingredients:
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies (plus extra for topping)
- Green food coloring (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Directions:
- Start by preparing an 8-inch square baking dish by lining it with parchment paper, allowing some overhang on the sides for easy removal later. This will make your fudge easy to handle and cut.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and the sweetened condensed milk over low heat. Stir constantly until the mixture is completely melted and smooth. Be sure to keep the heat low to prevent burning the chocolate.
- Once melted, remove the saucepan from the heat. Add in the peppermint extract and a pinch of salt, stirring until well combined. If you want to make the fudge green for that Grinchy effect, add a few drops of green food coloring until you achieve your desired shade.
- Next, fold in the crushed peppermint candies, reserving a handful for topping. This will give your fudge a delightful crunch and a refreshing flavor.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula. It’s important to smooth the top so that it has an attractive finish.
- Sprinkle the reserved crushed peppermint candies on top of the fudge, pressing them gently into the surface to stick.
- Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour, then transfer it to the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until completely set.
- Once the fudge is firm, lift it out of the baking dish using the parchment paper and cut it into squares. Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
