FESTIVE WINTER LIME COLLINS WITH SUGARED CRANBERRIES 🍹❄️
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz gin
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup (or to taste)
- 3 oz soda water
- 1 cup cranberries, fresh
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup water
- Ice cubes
- Lime slices and mint leaves for garnish
Directions:
- Begin by making the simple syrup if you don’t have any prepared. In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water (1 cup each). Heat over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Prepare the sugared cranberries next. In a saucepan, combine ½ cup of water and ¾ cup of granulated sugar. Bring this mixture to a simmer. Once the sugar has completely dissolved, add the cranberries and gently stir to coat them in the syrup. Let them simmer for about 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, remove the cranberries from the heat and let them cool in the syrup for about 10 minutes.
- Drain the cranberries and spread them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them sit for about 1 to 2 hours until they dry slightly. Then, roll them in granulated sugar to achieve that sparkling effect.
- Once the cranberries are ready, grab a tall glass and fill it with ice cubes. Pour in 1 ½ oz of gin, followed by 1 oz of fresh lime juice, and 1 oz of your freshly made simple syrup.
- Top it off with the soda water, letting it fizz and blend with the other ingredients.
- Gently stir to combine everything, being careful not to spill.
- Finally, garnish your drink with a few sugared cranberries atop and a slice of lime on the rim. Add mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
