FESTIVE CRANBERRY & SANGUINELLI ORANGE APEROL FIZZ

FESTIVE CRANBERRY & SANGUINELLI ORANGE APEROL FIZZ 🍊🍹

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sanguinelli orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 3 oz Aperol
  • 1 oz simple syrup (or to taste)
  • 2 oz club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange slices & cranberries for garnish

Directions

  1. Start by preparing your ingredients. If you haven’t done so already, squeeze the sanguinelli oranges to extract the juice. This variety has a vibrant color and a unique flavor, making it perfect for festive cocktails. Set aside the juice.
  2. Rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water and reserve a handful for garnish. You’ll want to use fresh cranberries to get that wonderful tart flavor, which perfectly balances the sweetness of the simple syrup and the Aperol.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine the cranberries (save a few for garnish), sanguinelli orange juice, Aperol, and simple syrup. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the cranberries to release their juices and flavors. Be careful not to pulverize them too much; we want some whole berries for the visual appeal.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and seal it tightly. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well mixed and chilled. The goal here is to chill the drink and continue melding all those wonderful flavors.
  5. Strain the mixture into a champagne flute or a wine glass filled with ice cubes. This will keep your drink cool without watering it down too fast.
  6. Top off your drink with club soda for a refreshing fizz. Stir gently to combine, being careful not to lose the carbonation.
  7. Decorate your drink with a slice of sanguinelli orange on the rim and a few whole cranberries dropped into the glass. This adds a festive touch and enhances the beautiful presentation of your cocktail.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your Festive Cranberry & Sanguinelli Orange Aperol Fizz with friends and family during your celebrations!

Notes

  • For a sweeter cocktail, adjust the amount of simple syrup to your taste. You can also infuse the simple syrup with herbs like rosemary for an interesting twist.
  • If sanguinelli oranges are not readily available, regular blood oranges can be used as a substitute. Their flavor is very similar and will work perfectly in this drink.
